eFIDS is the only Flight Information Display System that is AUTOMATED!
Manual intervention is only needed when the airline attendants know that something has caused a flight's ETA to be different from its scheduled arrival or departure. The only other time manual intervention is necessary is when the data feed, transferred over the Internet, is down.
eFIDS also provides very useful reports for the airport manager. These reports detail the deviations of flight arrivals and departures.
